The term “Trunk Show” sounds so mysterious! Often, brides shy away from these events because they have no idea what a Trunk Show actually is…
Bridal designers hold annual fashion shows to introduce new styles to industry professionals. The sample gowns worn on the runways by models are placed in trunks at the conclusion and shipped directly to specific retailers for a weekend. This is how the term “trunk show” originated. A Trunk Show gives the general public the opportunity to actually touch and try on a wider selection of a designer’s samples before they are released for production. Bridal boutiques usually do not have the space or budget to house every dress made by a designer, but during the Trunk Show, new releases and an extensive selection are the main attraction.
Brides should be prepared to purchase a gown they fall in love with at a trunk show because soon as the show concludes, the sample dresses are packed up and returned to the manufacturer.
Appointments are always necessary, and fill up very quickly, so schedule yours as soon as possible. If the boutique is booked to capacity, ask to be placed on their cancellation list and they will do their best to accommodate you.
