The search for the perfect Wedding Gown can be exciting, emotional & exhausting! You’ll likely begin the process by spending countless hours looking at the latest styles of dresses online and in magazines. Next on your list is making an appointment at a Bridal Boutique to actually try on gowns.
Who should you invite to attend your first dress shopping experience?
According to Randy Fenoli, star of TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress, “Your shopping partners should support you and have a very clear understanding about your goal and what your bridal style and budget are. They need to respect the fact that this is your wedding gown and be there to offer advice only when asked.”
“Most brides prefer only a small trusted group of confidants such as Mom and sister(s) to assist with actually finding their gown. In our experience, the most successful shopping takes place when fewer than 4 guests attend,” adds Kathryn Trocki, owner of Kathryn’s Bridal, McHenry. “After purchasing, the bride may schedule an entirely separate appointment with her entourage to reveal her choice. This follow-up visit usually includes finalizing accessories and a veil.”
Before you make your initial Bridal Salon appointment, determine specifically how many differing opinions you’d like to hear and invite accordingly. Only include people who will provide valuable fashion feedback and enhance your shopping experience. Remember that the purpose of your appointment is to find your dream dress!
