As a bride to be, the wedding planning process can be exciting, fun & overwhelming! You spend countless hours gathering ideas from magazines, websites and Pinterest to make your special day uniquely yours.
When you finally are ready to exit the fitting room to model the dress of your dreams, you hope all of the important people present will say in unison “yes, we love your choice!”
But, we sincerely caution you to think before you invite a large group to any of your appointments; sometimes your circle of special ladies may actually express an opinion about your perfect dress that you may not wish to hear…
*According to Randy Fenoli, star of TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress, “Your shopping partners should support you and have a very clear understanding about your goal and what your bridal style and budget are. They need to respect the fact that this is your wedding gown and be there to offer advice only when asked.”
If you are reluctant to hear anything other than praise, be a woman of mystery, and only bring a small group (Mom, sister, BFF) to assist with finding your gown. “Consider inviting your special circle of ladies to your first fitting or to help you accessorize,” adds Kathryn Trocki, owner of Kathryn’s Bridal, McHenry.
Another option is to simply state that you want your wedding day details to be a surprise for everyone!
