Are paper wedding invitations worth the expense?

While glancing through a recent issue of the Chicago Tribune, I came across a terrific article worth sharing with our brides about the importance of your wedding invitations.  I often hear brides say “it’s only a piece of paper my guests will throw away.” But actually an invitation is much more than that. It is a preview of what is to come, it tells your guests how important they are to you; a simple piece of paper truly makes a lasting impression.

Consider the fact that the invitation is often taped to a refrigerator for a few months, and then carried in the car to your ceremony.  Just because people may discard a wedding invitation after the event, they do make a snap judgment when they open the envelope and look at what is enclosed.  They may not remember exactly what your invitation looked like years later, but they will recall if it was thoughtful, original, elegant, or cheap…

What emotion do you want your guests to feel when they open that envelope?

Sending out old-fashioned, paper invitations is meant to simplify your life by detailing specifically who is invited, what to wear, and when to respond.     Make your life easy and use the services of a professional stationer because she knows how to help brides make a beautiful lasting impression, it’s her job!

  1. What a great post. I have had so many friends actually question about their wedding invitations. They think that a social media invite will actually be useful. I am so glad that I have been able to talk them out if it. Next time they question it I’ll be sure to send them to your post. Thanks so much.

    1. Dear Brielle:
Thank you for your comments and appreciation of the lasting impression a piece of paper can make.
      All the best to you!
